In Yugoslavia we are told we are fighting for humanity. Were saving innocent people the president says. Well there is trouble in Yugoslavia, but does dropping bombs and repeating the atrocities of Iraq the way to solve the problem. Right now the worst atrocities against humanity are going on in Tibet and our leaders won't even talk about it.
Fifty years ago the Chinese invaded Tibet and began their occupation of this small country that could offer no resistance. To date they have slaughtered over 1.2 million Tibetan people and destroyed all but 13 of the country's 6,254 monasteries. Their spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama was driven from his home and has taken refuge in the United States and has continued to ask for help from our leaders. Only recently have they began to listen to the worst case of human rights violations in our current history.
The Chinese government is so fanatical in their attempts to ruin the Tibetan society that they even sentenced a former Fulbright scholar who studied at Middlebury College to 18 years in prison for trying to make an amateur documentary about traditional Tibetan music and dance. The minds of the Chinese are filled with pure hatred and are evidence of the kind of spiritual darkness that prevails over much of our world.
Presidents Clintons response to this is indifference. He has turned a blind head to the problems of the Tibetan people and has instead served the large corporations, including AT&T, by making deals with the Chinese government for trade. The country of China is seen by him as a frontier for global traders. A new land to conquer for the bankers and corporations who would rule the world. As their front man he has opened the doors of commerce and said aside the principles our country stands for.
In Vietnam we were told we were fighting for democracy. We were going to stop communism. In Desert Storm we were liberating an invaded people and turning back the madman from Baghdad. But here in China Clinton and his corporate benefactors pay no heed to the human atrocities and ideas of democracy. All they see are dollar signs.
As a citizen of the United States, I find President Clinton an embarrassment to our country and to the principles for which it stands. As President he has failed to uphold his responsibility to the free people of the world and turned his back on one of the most spiritual and loving people on the planet in their most desperate hour of need. He has turned loose the bombs on Afghanistan, Iraq and Yugoslavia. Countries where we should not even be involved. But he will do nothing for the poor people of Tibet.
InThe Winters Plan, I present my ideas on how to deal with China before they become even more powerful and harder to deal with. We should have learned from Russia. We played economic warfare with them and now their country is in shambles and their military power is even greater and still posses a threat. Will we do the same with China?
